Premium yellow root powder tonic

Eurycoma longifolia (Yellow variety) is a medicinal plant commonly called tongkat ali (TA) and “Malaysian ginseng.” TA roots are a traditional “anti-aging” remedy and modern supplements are intended to improve libido, energy, sports performance and weight loss. Previous studies have shown properly-standardized TA to stimulate release of free testosterone, improve sex drive, reduce fatigue, and improve well-being.
(J Int Soc Sports Nutr. 2013; 10: 28. Published online 2013 May 26. doi:  10.1186/1550-2783-10-28)

Tongkat ali is traditionally used for male sexual performance, but that is not its only traditional role. In folk medicine, it is used to increase energy, reduce fatigue, and help build muscle mass. The natural influx of testosterone from the herbal supplement is beneficial for both men and women. It helps to protect bones against the ravages of osteoporosis, and the increase in muscle mass is helpful to both sexes in various situations.

The herb also tends to increase blood flow, and often joints suffer from a lack of adequate blood supply. By increasing the amount of nutrients to the joint structures through the use of tongkat ali, the body is better able to heal the torn cartilage, strained ligaments, or damaged joint capsules.

The yellow Tongkat Ali is the more potent of the 3 varieties (yellow, black and red). Yellow Tongkat Ali comes from a plant known as Eurycoma Longifolia. Marked by its distinctive yellow root, the plant grows naturally in remote rainforests of Malaysia, Indonesia and some smaller parts of Southern Thailand.

The best way for Tongkat Ali to be taken is the original way as when the herb was discovered by the villagers – ground up the roots and boil them. However, if budget allows and if time is a constraint, the Tongkat Ali extracts can be considered. It is more convenient than the very basic way of consuming this root.

Modern customers prefer convenience, hence extraction methods are used. It is a costly method, adding costs to the final product. Even TCM herbs are taken in its basic form, which is boiling the raw herbs. One advantage is that you can actually see the herbs you are taking. In extract form, you see only granulated form.

It is debatable that eating extracts of Spinach is better than eating the actual Spinach.

Jungle Tongkat Ali is more expensive than farm Tongkat Ali, because people believe that being in the wild and growing slowly without human intervention, the Tongkat Ali is more potent. This may be true. But jungle Tongkat Ali is hard to tell apart from farmed Tongkat Ali. However, jungle roots, in rare situations can be contaminated by heavy metals if, for example, a factory is situated nearby and industrial waste is carelessly discarded in the vicinity. The wastes then seep into the grounds to contaminate the plants.

TheJamuShop’s Tongkat Ali is harvested in a farm under controlled conditions.

This native plant found through SE Asia is used as an Aphrodisiac since 1996 (5). It has to be used regularly and works by enhancing the testosterone and cGMP production. Benefits are felt gradually over a period of time, mainly because it enhances the natural biological synthesis of testosterone. When the level is increased, health and vitality are restored. In studies on Mice, Tongkat Ali increases the number of times and duration of sexual performance of the animals under study (8) with testosterone levels increasing up to 440% in some animals. In a recent study on humans, 62% of subjects showed an increase of the free testosterone index indicating it’s biostimulatory effect on steroidogenesis. It has also been shown to increase sperm concentration and motility and increases energy in the individual by enhancing ATP production by 60% thru oxidative phosphorylation.

Ingredients

100% yellow Tongkat Ali (Eurycoma Longifolia) powder. The Tongkat Ali is taken in its root form, unadulterated, unprocessed for a few generations before it shot to fame in the West. When more people around the world discovers its curative powers, manufacturers of all kinds seek to differentiate themselves by processing this herb in varied ways.

The ratio extract is one such example. Not only is the ratio aspect of the herb debatable and unverifiable, it also detracts from the real benefits of the herb. The herb contains a wide spectrum of bioactives that cannot be easily measured and condensed into a single compound. We take Tongkat Ali the way it has always been taken – consuming the raw, unprocessed, unadulterated herb. The way the Jamu ladies carry the bottles of concoctions and powders from house to house on the dusty streets of Java.
